Bitcoin Is Stuck at $80K: James G's Bitcoin and Nvidia Trade Plan
Key takeaways
- When a market goes unusually quiet, James trims size and trades the range with a tight stop instead of forcing a big position.
- Bitcoin's 4-hour chart is a descending channel with support near 79,140 and the top near 83,000. He laddered buy orders at 79,300 and 77,750.
- His Nvidia idea: long at $207 off a two-year trend line, stop at $202, target $265, about 12 times the risk. He warned against leverage for beginners.
James G opened his 27 October 2026 video before sunrise with an observation: the market had barely moved for days, which he called a "very weird signal". He was still 80% cash and 20% equities, with Google, Nvidia and Amazon as his largest positions.
Bitcoin: trim, then trade the range
He held a 1.5 Bitcoin position that was roughly flat. After a spike down toward 79,300 the day before, he decided to cut it by half a Bitcoin and keep laddered buy orders at 79,300 and 77,750.
The bigger picture on his charts:
- Monthly: oversold and heading up.
- Weekly: inside a rising wedge, with both of his indicator bots showing a buy.
- Daily: already oversold, with the squeeze-momentum indicator trying to turn green.
- 4-hour: a descending channel, support forming at about 79,140 and the top of the channel near 83,000.
His trade idea was small and tight: buy near 79,750 at support and target the top of the channel, about 13 times the risk. "I wouldn't risk much on this trade," he said.
Ethereum was holding $2,300, and he noted his earlier short from about $2,477 had worked.
Nvidia: buy the trend line, cap the risk
On the weekly chart Nvidia has climbed a steep channel since early 2025 that is starting to look like a rising wedge, so he wanted to be careful. The old resistance near $212 had turned into major support, and he keeps alerts at $192, $166 and $139.
- Entry: $207, near the trend line
- Stop loss: $202
- Take profit: $265, the top of the resistance
- Risk to reward: about 12 times
He set it as a $20,000 position at 20x leverage, a $1,000 margin, and immediately added a warning: don't use leverage until you have a long track record. His core Nvidia position is a separate buy-and-hold.
What the AIs said
He ran /ask BTC in the Elite group, which queries the top three Clash of AIs models. Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra both called short from around 80,000, and Grok 4.7 said no trade. "A bit dangerous for Bitcoin," was his read. It was a reason to keep the position small and the orders lower.
The rule underneath it all
He closed with Warren Buffett's two rules: don't lose money, and don't forget rule number one. Protect capital, buy when markets are oversold or panicking, and let compounding do the rest.
He asked the AIs about Bitcoin. Two said short.
